Welcome to the Volunteer Committees page for Cultural Expressions Art Gallery Inc.! We are a non-profit organization dedicated to honoring cultural diversity and promoting its richness through various events and education programs. Our mission is to connect the Black community, other racialized groups, and the wider community across the Regional Municipality of Durham, Ontario, Canada, and beyond.
Since our establishment in 2016, Cultural Expressions Art Gallery Inc. has been working tirelessly to create opportunities that celebrate cultural expressions and foster a sense of belonging for all individuals. We believe that by embracing diversity, we can build stronger, more inclusive communities.
Volunteering with our organization provides a unique chance to make a positive impact and contribute to the promotion of cultural diversity. Our volunteers play a crucial role in assisting with event planning and coordination, facilitating workshops and educational programs, providing administrative support, and more.
As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to join one or more of our dedicated committees, each focused on a specific area of our organization. Below are the volunteer committees you can choose from:
1. Events Committee: This committee is responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating the events hosted by Cultural Expressions Art Gallery Inc. Members of this committee will assist with event logistics, venue arrangements, guest coordination, and overall event management.
2. Education Programs Committee: The Education Programs Committee focuses on developing and implementing educational initiatives that promote cultural awareness, art appreciation, and intercultural understanding. Committee members will assist with workshop planning, curriculum development, participant engagement, and evaluation of program outcomes.
3. Outreach and Communications Committee: The Outreach and Communications Committee is responsible for promoting Cultural Expressions Art Gallery Inc. and its events to the wider community. Committee members will contribute to social media management, website content creation, community outreach initiatives, and fostering partnerships with other organizations.
4. Fundraising and Sponsorship Committee: This committee focuses on securing funding and sponsorships to support the organization’s initiatives. Committee members will assist with grant applications, organizing fundraising events, donor management, and developing corporate partnerships.
5. Volunteer Coordination Committee: The Volunteer Coordination Committee plays a crucial role in recruiting, training, and supporting our volunteers. Members of this committee will assist with volunteer recruitment, orientation, scheduling, recognition, and maintaining volunteer engagement.
