Artist Statement
The watercolor painting I have included in this year's painting reflect the Yoruba woman.
The Yoruba woman goes to every party knowing she is the price! Her outfits are well planned and her face put together radiating beauty, elegance and cultural richness. She always carries herself with a confident sway because she simply can’t be diffident.
As a Yoruba woman also, my paintings titled Buga Queen 1 & 2 are dedicated to all Yoruba women who continue to show up and show out with creativity, fashion acumen, poise and intelligence.
