Born on the cusp of the new millennium, I like to say I was “born from a boombox.” My earliest years unfolded in that fleeting space between the analog world and the digital age—when childhood meant flipping through I Spy books, hunting for Waldo in seas of red and white, and hearing the basslines of mixtapes rattle through speakers.
Growing up in this transitional era, I witnessed technology shift rapidly: record players became MP3s, board games gave way to handheld consoles, and the internet began to reshape imagination itself. I carry these fragments of memory—bright, playful, sometimes chaotic—into my practice as a painter.
My work explores the nostalgia of being part of the last generation to experience a childhood untouched by social media, yet old enough to remember the arrival of the Y2K craze and its promise of futuristic possibility. Each piece becomes a kind of time capsule: blending saturated colors, layered textures, and hints of pop culture to reimagine what it felt like to grow up at the crossroads of two centuries.
