Black History Month Celebration
Cultural Expressions presents its 17th Annual Black History Month celebration. The free, in-person event will kick-off at 4pm with community networking, family-friendly activities, live music and light refreshments. A formal program with performances, speakers and presentation of the annual Madiba Award will be held in the J. Clarke Richardson auditorium starting at 6:30pm.
This year’s event theme, Our Decade: Recognition, Justice and Development, ties into the theme of the United Nations’ International Decade for People of African Descent. As the decade draws to a close in 2024, we will reflect on the past 10 years and inspire the next generation to continue to strive for advancements for the Black community.
