SUMMARY:Call for Artists – Unity Through the Arts 2027
DESCRIPTION:Cultural Expressions for CHANGE is accepting online artist registrations ( https://forms.gle/seTdB9tVUfBAJkqZ9 ) now until December 15, 2026.\nRegister Now\nCultural Expressions for Change (CE4C) presents the 4th Annual Unity Through the Arts exhibition, in partnership with the Town of Ajax ( https://ajax.ca/explore/things-to-do/arts-culture-heritage/ ).\nOur theme celebrates cultural diversity—not just as identity, but as the lived traditions, creative practices, and community expressions that shape how culture is shared, interpreted, and passed on.\nWe are seeking artworks that explore and honour diverse cultural experiences, including but not limited to: rituals, storytelling, textiles, food traditions, clothing, language, craft, spiritual practices, and intergenerational knowledge. We also welcome works that reflect lived experiences shaped by migration, displacement, diaspora, or community belonging. Subcultural influences (such as streetwear, skate culture, or other community-based movements) may also be considered, where they meaningfully engage with cultural identity and diversity.\nArtists must submit a short statement (max 250 words) describing how their work relates to the theme along with a digital image of the completed work.\nAs part of our ongoing commitment to equity and representation in the arts, we strongly encourage submissions from artists whose voices have been historically underrepresented—particularly Black, Indigenous, and racialized artists and other equity-deserving communities.\nAll 2 dimensional visual art mediums are welcome.\n \n\nKey Dates\n\nDecember 15, 2026 – Registration and Payment Due\nDecember 20, 206 – Notification of Selected and Not Selected Artwork\nJanuary 4, 2027 – Artwork Drop-Off (Selected Only)\nJanuary 5, 2027 – UTTA Exhibition Opens\nJanuary 20, 2027 – Deadline for Community Choice Award Nominations\nJanuary 21, 2027 – UTTA Exhibition Closes\nJanuary 22, 2027 – Artwork Pick-Up (Non-Awarded Artwork)\nJanuary 23, 2027 – UTTA Award Ceremony\n\n \n\n\n\n
